Shelf and Sieve
Walnut, poplar, milk paint, slip-cast porcelain, four pennies, chain, mesh, South Carolina red clay, acrylic, photo taken by my Grandmother.
[ Each porcelain box is slip-cast using the texture of a rock found in Baltimore. Underneath each porcelain box there is a penny inlaid: a penny from 1959, 1962, 1998 and 1999. Underneath the structure, a small basket holds red clay from South Carolina, which drips down onto a photo taken by my Grandmother of a truck on the side of the road on the way to the beach.]
