Lucy Ranson is a maker of furniture, hardware, sculpture, and other objects. She primarily works with metal and wood, but incorporates other materials as they call. Historic architecture, decorative details, and fond fragments of the lived environment influence how she designs and crafts her work.
Lucy grew up in Greenville, SC, where she first learned to love the arts and appreciate craftsmanship. In 2020, she received a BFA in Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Lucy currently lives and works in Baltimore, MD, where she is a furniture fabricator, studio technician, and mother to her cat, Bonnie.
