Lucy Ranson is an artist and fabricator born and raised in Greenville, SC. She received her BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD in 2020. Grounded in craft through metalworking, woodworking, and ceramics, Lucy gives tangible form to observed and remembered places and experiences. Through recreating fragments of the lived environment, her work reveals how objects act as placeholders for ephemeral moments, even after they have slipped away. The act of fabrication becomes an acknowledgement of the events, situations, and objects that have shaped the way she views the world.
